Settings
Special attention should be paid to the game settings, as this directly affects the comfortable gameplay. It is strongly recommended to carefully approach the settings in order to get positive impressions from the gameplay in the future.
To enter the settings menu you need to:
General recommendations for game settings are given below.
A game
Parameter | What does it do? |
Language | Select the interface language, dialogues and NPC voice acting. |
Include training | Enables in-game tooltips/tips. Will be useful for beginners. |
Camera tracking of vehicle turns | Allows the camera to be centered when riding a moped (no need to turn your head). |
Rotate camera in idle mode | When the character is in animation, the camera will rotate around him. |
Camera rotation speed at idle | Affects the speed of rotation of the camera around the player when he is in animation. |
Automatically accept markers | Allows you to exchange markers (map marks) between players. |
Enabling can have a positive effect on performance/loading/loading locations, microfreezes, lags if your computer has 16 GB of RAM or more. | |
Graphics
Parameter | For weak PCs “so that it doesn’t lag” | For powerful PCs “I want a beautiful picture” | What does the parameter affect? |
Render type | DirectX 12 | DirectX 11 | DX12unloads the processor, shifting some of its tasks to the video card. This helps combat freezes on computers with weak processors, and on PVP, when it lags in a crowd. If the processor is powerful, it is better to useDX11. This way the FPS will be higher. VulcanIt is better not to use. |
Permission | – | – | Affects the clarity of the image. The lower the resolution, the less clear the image will be. Reducing the resolution increases FPS if the video card is not powerful enough. |
Resolution scale | 50% | 100% | Another way to adjust the resolution. |
Screen mode | – | – | “Borderless Window” lets you quickly switch from your game to other apps and quickly switch between multiple monitors. On computers with one monitor, it is better to use “Fullscreen mode” (this will make the game run more stably). |
Vertical sync | Off | incl. | Allows you to remove image breaks that occur during fast movements by limiting the FPS on the monitor’s hertz. Enabling this option worsens the response to mouse and keyboard commands. |
Field of view | – | – | Allows you to adjust the number of objects that fit on the screen. At a high value, more objects are visible, but they are smaller. At a low value, objects will be larger and closer. |
Frame rate limit | – | – | Limits the maximum frame rate (FPS) to the value you specify. To remove the limit, enter “0”. |
Full dynamic lighting | Off | incl. | Affects the softness of the shadow edges. When enabled, the shadows will become softer. |
FidelyFX Super Resolution 2 | Ultra performance | Do not use | Allows you to increase FPS by slightly reducing the overall image quality. ! Doesn’t work unless Temporal AA is enabled! |
FidelyFX Sharpening | – | – | Increases sharpness when using FidelyFX Super Resolution 2. |
Cloud type | Simple clouds (old) | Volumetric clouds (new) | Changes the appearance of clouds: normal ones load the computer less and look flat. The new ones look bulky and put more load on the computer. |
Animation quality | Low | High | This setting affects the smoothness of animations with a large number of objects in the frame: players, mobs, effects. The higher the quality, the longer the smoothness is maintained with a large number of objects, but the higher the load on the system. This option is especially useful in situations with large battles, such as in Adventure #3, where a large number of mobs can cause performance issues on weaker PCs. Important: Changing this setting requires restarting the game client. Setting it to “Low” will simplify animations and may cause them to appear choppy, but will reduce the load on your computer. |
Motion blur | 0.08 | 0.08 | Adds motion blur, which improves the smoothness of sharp mouse movements (but reduces clarity). Too high a value can greatly reduce the clarity of the game. |
Quality | Low | Maximum | Affects the quality of blurring. On average, the image at the moment of blurring will be more “pixelated” than on maximum. |
Temporal AA smoothing method | yes | yes | Toggles antialiasing. Enabling antialiasing helps eliminate flickering of grass/trees/fence mesh. Also, with antialiasing disabled, rain looks rougher. |
Quality | Average | Average | Affects the smoothing speed: –Low:Anti-aliasing will only work in motion. Static images will not be anti-aliased; –Average:the image will be smoothed by a temporal algorithm. This is the best option in terms of smoothing quality and image sharpness (according to the creators of the game engine); –High, very high and maximum:Improves clarity during motion, but increases flickering on thin objects. |
Image sharpness | 2.5 | 2.5 | Allows you to make objects more/less clear. |
Graphics quality | Low | Custom | – |
Rendering distance | Low | Maximum | Display range of objects: trees, bushes, stones, cars. Does not affect the display range of characters (300 meters/1000 meters in the Foothills location). |
Anti-aliasing quality | Maximum | Maximum | –Low:without smoothing; –Average:low quality FXAA antialiasing; –High:low-quality TAA anti-aliasing (outlines of moving objects are visible); –Maximum:high quality TAA antialiasing (preferred option). |
Post-processing | Low | High | Affects the effects of light scattering (blinding glare of sunlight, volumetric sun rays). |
Shadows | Low | Maximum | Adjusts the display, as well as the rendering distance and shadow quality. |
Textures | Low | High | The higher the quality, the further high-quality textures are drawn. |
Show character death effects | No | – | After the character dies, sparks (bats, during Halloween) appear above his body, which makes it clear that the player has died. |

Sound
Parameter | What does the parameter affect? |
Speaker mode | Responsible for the quality of sound reproduction (volume). It is recommended to select the speaker mode that matches your audio system. For example, do not select “7.1 Surround Sound” if you are using regular speakers – this will NOT improve the sound quality, but will only increase the load on the system. |
Sound quality | Adjusts the sound quality. Owners of weak PCs are recommended to select “Low” to reduce the load on the system. |
Overall volume | Adjusts the overall volume of the game, including all sounds. |
Music volume | Adjusts the volume of background music: background sounds of locations and music at events. |
Effects volume | Adjusts the volume of shots, footsteps, mob screams… |
Character voice volume | Adjusts the volume of character voices: yours, other players, and all NPCs, including guides. |
Voice communication volume | Adjusts the volume of the interlocutor’s voice when communicating in the game voice chat. |
Radio volume | Adjusts the volume of the interlocutor’s voice when communicating via radio. |
Interface sound volume | Adjusts the volume of PDA sounds, chat message notifications, and other alerts. |
VOIP enabled | By checking the box, you will be able to communicate in voice chat with other players: hear them and speak yourself. Without checking the box, voice chat will be disabled – you will not be able to hear others or speak. |
Recording device | Select the microphone you use. |
Fine-tuning identification
In the game settings (“esc” – “identification”) you can specify at what distance (in meters) how exactly other players will be displayed to you:
“Distance of simplified identification of characters”
From the specified distance, only the player’s nickname, his XP (in percent) and character class will be displayed. The color palette corresponds to the standard described above (as for full character identification). However, with simplified identification and depersonalization, all “blue” will be displayed as “green”.
“Distance of impersonal identification”
From the specified distance, only the player indicator will be displayed:
star for group leaders (even if it’s not your group).
The color designation of the “triangles” and “stars” at a distance, when “depersonalization” is triggered, has a slightly different meaning than when displayed as above:
Please note that when “coloring” a character, it does not take into account whether the character is among your friends/enemies.
