Server selection

Server selection

When choosing a game server, you need to consider the following parameters: location, load, and server type (normal / No-PK).

.

.

.

.

Server locationdirectly affects ping (response time). The closer the server is to your region, the lower the delay will be, which will have a positive effect on the gameplay. You can view the delay to the server directly in the game itself (when you create a character and start playing. It will be indicated in the upper right corner of the screen). Or through the clientSteam – View – Game Servers:

Don’t be surprised if you see KAZ-1 in the list of Steam servers. This is a test server for the game administration, not available to regular players. 😉

Server loaddisplays the number of active players at the moment. High load provides the opportunity to interact with a larger number of participants, more intense wars in PVP locations and interesting joint PVE activities. However, this can also complicate access to spots for leveling up a character and collecting resources (there will be too much competition). With low load, such problems do not arise, but interaction with other players will be limited.

Choosing between a “regular” server and NO-PK

There are two types of servers available in Will To Live Online:

●Normal (PvP)
●No-PK (PvE-oriented)

.

No-PK servers, in other words – “Player versus environment”.

PvP is disabled or heavily limited here:

●Players cannot attack each other unless they manually enable PvP.
●PvP mode is disabled by default and can be turned on/off at any time, at any level.
●Important: In PvP locations (Canyon, Polygon, Foothills) PvP is enabled automatically. After leaving these locations, do not forget to disable PvP manually if you do not want to remain in PvP mode.
●An excellent choice for beginners or those who prefer a quiet passage: quests, exploration, hunting mutants – without the risk of being killed by another player.

.

Normal (PvP) servers

●PvP is enabled by default.
●Up to level 15, PvP can be disabled to calmly get used to the game.
●After level 15, PvP is always active – you can’t refuse it.
●It is the choice of players who love risk, intense combat and competitive gameplay.

Exception for all servers

If you have joined one of the factions:

●PvP against a hostile faction is becoming an integral part of the game, even on a No-PK server.
●Members of the same faction in NO-PK mode cannot damage each other if they are in locations that do not have forced PvP mode.
