Game settings

Settings

Special attention should be paid to the game settings, as they directly affect your gameplay experience. We highly recommend tweaking them to get the most out of your time in the game.

To access the settings menu:

  • If you are in the lobby (server or character selection screen), click the gear icon in the top left corner.
  • If you are already in-game, press Escape and select “Settings”.

General recommendations for game settings are provided below.

Game

Language

Selects the language for the interface, dialogues, and NPC voiceovers.
Language 1 Language 2 Language 3 Language 4

Enable Tutorial

Enables pop-up tooltips/tips in-game. Highly recommended for new players.

Camera tracking for vehicle turning

Centers the camera when riding a moped (no need to turn your head manually).

Idle camera rotation

When your character is in an idle animation, the camera will rotate around them.

Idle camera rotation speed

Affects the speed of the camera rotating around the player while in an idle animation.

Automatically accept markers

Allows you to exchange markers (map pins) with other players.

Graphics

Render Type

Low-end PCsDirectX 12
High-end PCsDirectX 11
DX12 offloads the CPU by shifting some of its tasks to the GPU. This helps fix stuttering on PCs with weak CPUs and during PvP when lagging in a crowd. If you have a powerful CPU, it’s better to use DX11 for higher FPS. It’s highly recommended not to use Vulkan.

Resolution

Low-end PCs
High-end PCs
Affects image clarity. The lower the resolution, the blurrier the picture. Lowering the resolution increases FPS if your GPU is lacking power.

Resolution Scale

Low-end PCs50%
High-end PCs100%
Another way to adjust the resolution.

Display Mode

Low-end PCs
High-end PCs
“Borderless Windowed” allows you to quickly alt-tab between the game and other apps, as well as switch between multiple monitors. If you have a single monitor, “Fullscreen” is the better choice (the game will run more stable).

V-Sync

Low-end PCsOff
High-end PCsOn
Removes screen tearing during fast movements by capping your FPS at your monitor’s refresh rate. Turning this on worsens input lag for your mouse and keyboard.

Field of View (FOV)

Low-end PCs
High-end PCs
Adjusts how many objects fit on the screen. A higher value shows more objects, but they appear smaller. A lower value makes objects larger and closer.

Max FPS Limit

Low-end PCs
High-end PCs
Caps your maximum frames per second (FPS) to the specified value. Type “0” to remove the limit.

Full Dynamic Lighting

Low-end PCsOff
High-end PCsOn
Affects the softness of shadow edges. When enabled, shadows become much softer.

FidelyFX Super Resolution 2

Low-end PCsUltra Performance
High-end PCsDo not use
Boosts FPS by slightly lowering the overall image quality. ! Does not work unless Temporal AA is enabled !

FidelyFX Sharpness

Low-end PCs
High-end PCs
Increases sharpness when using FidelyFX Super Resolution 2.

Cloud Type

Low-end PCsSimple clouds (old)
High-end PCsVolumetric clouds (new)
Changes the appearance of clouds: regular clouds put less load on your PC but look flat. New ones look volumetric but demand more system resources.

Animation Quality

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsHigh
This setting affects animation smoothness when there are many objects on screen: players, mobs, effects. The higher the quality, the longer smoothness is preserved with lots of objects, but the heavier the load on your system. This option is especially useful in massive battles, like in “Adventure #3”, where a huge number of mobs can cause performance drops on low-end PCs. Important: changing this parameter requires restarting the game client. When set to “Low”, animations will be simplified and may look choppy, but this will reduce the load on your PC.

Motion Blur

Low-end PCs0.08
High-end PCs0.08
Adds motion blur, improving smoothness during fast mouse movements (but reducing clarity). Setting it too high can severely degrade image clarity.

Motion Blur: Quality

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsMaximum
Affects the quality of the blur. At medium, the blurred image will look more “pixelated” compared to maximum.

Temporal AA Method

Low-end PCsYes
High-end PCsYes
Toggles anti-aliasing on/off. Enabling AA helps eliminate flickering grass, trees, and fence meshes. Also, with AA disabled, rain looks more “rough”.

Temporal AA: Quality

Low-end PCsMedium
High-end PCsMedium
Affects the speed of anti-aliasing:
  • Low: AA only works while moving. Static images won’t be smoothed;
  • Medium: the image is smoothed by the temporal algorithm. This is the best option in terms of AA quality and image sharpness (according to the engine developers);
  • High, Very High, and Maximum: improves clarity during movement but increases flickering on thin objects.

Image Sharpness

Low-end PCs2.5
High-end PCs2.5
Makes objects more or less sharp.

Graphics Quality

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsCustom

Draw Distance

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsMaximum
Render distance for objects: trees, bushes, rocks, cars. Does not affect player render distance (300 meters / 1000 meters in the Foothills location).

Anti-Aliasing Quality

Low-end PCsMaximum
High-end PCsMaximum
  • Low: no anti-aliasing;
  • Medium: low-quality FXAA;
  • High: low-quality TAA (outlines of moving objects are visible);
  • Maximum: high-quality TAA (the most preferred option).

Post-Processing

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsHigh
Affects light scattering effects (blinding sun glare, volumetric sunbeams).

Shadows

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsMaximum
Adjusts the rendering, draw distance, and quality of shadows.

Textures

Low-end PCsLow
High-end PCsHigh
The higher the quality, the further high-res textures are rendered.

Show character death effects

Low-end PCsNo
High-end PCs
After a character dies, sparks appear over their body (or bats during Halloween), making it perfectly clear that the player has died.

Enabling “Tactical Potato” Mode!

Want to boost your PvP skill? Set up your graphics like this:

  • Display Mode: “Fullscreen”.
  • Resolution: 4:3 aspect ratio.

Why choose 4:3?

  • Improved visibility. When stretching a 4:3 resolution on 16:9 monitors, models and textures look stretched. For some players, this feels like an advantage because the target appears visually larger and, in their perception, easier to hit.
  • Recoil control. When players use 4:3 and stretch it on a widescreen monitor, the entire screen gets slightly “wider,” including the weapon model and recoil animation. This stretching makes vertical movements (like the gun kicking up) visually less noticeable due to the altered proportions. The result: it feels like the weapon “pulls up less,” making recoil control easier.
  • More FPS. Fewer pixels = lower GPU load = higher frames per second (FPS).

Here is a list of resolutions with a 4:3 aspect ratio:

  • 320 × 240
  • 640 × 480
  • 800 × 600
  • 1024 × 768
  • 1152 × 864
  • 1280 × 960
  • 1400 × 1050
  • 1440 × 1080
  • 1600 × 1200
  • 1856 × 1392
  • 1920 × 1440
  • 2048 × 1536

Sound

Speaker Mode

Controls audio playback quality (surround sound). It’s recommended to choose the speaker mode that matches your audio system. For example, don’t select “7.1 Surround” if you’re using basic stereo speakers — it WON’T improve sound quality, it will just increase system load.

Audio Quality

Adjusts sound quality. Low-end PC owners should choose “Low” to reduce system load.

Master Volume

Adjusts the overall game volume, including all sounds.

Music Volume

Adjusts the volume of the soundtrack: ambient location sounds and event music.

Effects Volume

Adjusts the volume of gunshots, footsteps, mob screams, etc.

Character Voice Volume

Adjusts the voice volume of characters: yours, other players, and all NPCs, including guides.

Voice Chat Volume

Adjusts the voice volume of the person you are talking to in the in-game voice chat.

Radio Volume

Adjusts the voice volume of the person you are talking to via the radio.

UI Sounds Volume

Adjusts the volume of PDA sounds, chat message notifications, and other alerts.

VOIP Enabled

By checking this box, you can communicate in voice chat with other players: hear them and speak yourself. Without the checkmark, voice chat is disabled — you won’t be able to hear others or speak.

Recording Device

Select the microphone you are using.

Advanced Identification Settings

In the game settings (“Esc” – “Identification”), you can specify at what distance (in meters) and how exactly other players will be displayed to you:

“Simplified character identification distance”

From the specified distance, only the player’s nickname, their HP (in percentage), and character class will be displayed. The color scheme corresponds to the standard described above (same as for full character identification). However, with simplified identification and depersonalization, all “light blue” players will appear as “green”.

“Depersonalized identification distance”

From the specified distance, only the player indicator will be displayed:

  • Triangle icon triangle for all players;
  • Star icon star for group leaders (even if it’s not your group).

The color coding of “triangles” and “stars” at the distance where “depersonalization” triggers has a slightly different meaning than the displays mentioned above:

  • White — this player is neutral (for faction players);
  • Green — this character is neutral (for neutrals) or in your faction (for faction players);
  • Red — this character is a faction player (for neutrals) or does not belong to your faction (for faction players).

Keep in mind that when “coloring” a character, it does not take into account whether the character is on your Friends or Enemies list.
