Additional Side Quests

Will To Live Online features side quests that don’t affect the main storyline. However, they are a great way to grind some quick XP and grab extra loot. Below you’ll find the complete list, grouped by category.

Everyone sees the crafting quests, but not everyone bothers to do them. And that’s a mistake.

Crafting Quests

  • Lockpick

    XP: 200
    Unlocked when trying to open a locked door without lockpicks.
    You need to craft several lockpicks using Steel Wire, Pliers, and Long-nose Pliers.

  • Strange Map

    XP: 10,000
    You need to collect all parts of the map. Crafted directly in your inventory.
    • First part (on a mattress in house F3-6);
    • Second part (F4-5, Key 8);
    • Third part (basement of the Strange Place);
    • Fourth part (K5-5, Key 6);
    • Fifth part (Sosnovka, shop).

  • Repair NDP Detector

    XP: 3,000
    You need to assemble the NDP Detector. Crafted in your inventory.
    • Clock face (E10-7, Key 9);
    • Microchip (E10-7, Key 9 / Bunker, inside the PC system unit);
    • SBM-20 (Bunker, Symbiote’s hangar, container, Key 3);
    • NDP Detector casing (MTE, Key 13);
    • 3 Microchips (Bunker, Key 4).

Entering certain locations automatically triggers an exploration quest. If you know the exact locations of all the checkpoints, you can blast through it in minutes. Otherwise, you can easily get stuck for hours or just drop the quest entirely.

In other sections of our guide, you’ll find maps with marked checkpoints that will help you complete these quests quickly and effortlessly. So don’t slack off—start exploring!

Exploration Quests

  • Bomb Shelter

    XP: 200
    You need to explore the Bomb Shelter location to 100%. Lockpicks are required for exploration.
    The entrance is located in Solnechny town (basement of the two-story building to the left of the monument).
  • MTE

    XP: 5,000
    You need to explore the MTE location to 100%. The entrance is from the Solnechny outskirts.
  • Spider Cave

    XP: 3,000
    You need to explore the Spider Cave location to 100%. The entrance is from Minaev’s territory.
  • Bunker

    XP: 15,000
    You need to explore the Bunker location to 100%. Key #4 is required for exploration (can be looted there). The entrance is from the East Territories (next to the Exclusion zone camp).

The game also features several quests designed for those who love diving into the world’s lore. The developers added some depth by scattering notes containing story fragments across various locations. A true stalker won’t walk past them: every find adds to the atmosphere and gives that genuine exploration vibe. Plus, you get extra XP just for reading a note—a small but nice bonus.

Note Quests

  • Stray Animal Catch Service

    XP: 1,000
    You need to find 2 notes.
    • The first note is in the bus at B6-2 (Solnechny outskirts).
    • The second one is in the car at B7-9 (Minaev’s territory).
    Keep in mind that if someone looted the notes before you, the next ones will spawn in no more than half a minute of real time.
  • Note: “Motor Transport Enterprise”

    XP: 300
    Money: 100
    You need to find the note. Location: Railway Station (B3-1), in the shop building (enter from the back through the anomaly, lying on a shelf next to the TV).

  • Horrible Shift, Headquarters, Order, Second Shift, Security, Evacuation Impossible

    XP: 2,000 per note
    (12,000 in total)
    You need to find 6 notes in the Fire Station (Minaev’s territory).
    Note locations:
    • Main building, 1st floor – main hall, on the bulletin board.
    • 1st floor, in the right corner room, on a shelf.
    • 1st floor – in the room to the right of the entrance, on one of the bookcase shelves.
    • Same building, 2nd floor (up the stairs), on a shelving unit.
    • 2nd floor (up the central stairs) – in the large room with beds, on the nightstand by the window.
    • Building in the backyard of the fire station (on a table).

    You need to find the notes. Scattered across the Exclusion zone:
    • J6-3, by the large rock;
    • I5-6, in the shipwreck debris;
    • H4-7, under the airplane wing;
    • G4-1, near the excavator;
    • G5-1, next to the shipwreck debris;
    • E6-2, on a small island by a corpse;
    • H9-1, in the helicopter.

  • NDP Crystal Riddle

    XP: 3,000
    You need to find the note. Located in the Bus Station building, 3rd floor, room requiring lockpicks, on a table.

    You need to find the note. It’s located near the Bus Station building, in the backyard, to the right of the garage descent (inside the overturned red bus on the floor. You’ll need to do some parkour to reach it).

    You need to find the notes. Coast, C2-8 (3 notes in houses) + C3-1 (note in the railcar and in the truck bed on the road). 5 notes in total.

    You need to find the notes. Coast, F4-7,8 (3 notes in houses and 1 on a car seat between the houses). 4 notes in total.

Treasure hunting quests are for those ready to feel like true treasure hunters.

Treasure Hunting Quests

  • Safe in the Fire Station

    Loot: Gold Chain
    To trigger the quest, you need to dive into the water pit at coordinates B7-2, go through the pipe, and interact with the safe in the room. This will start the quest.
    Then, in the same area, you need to kill an NPC that will have a note with the safe code on its corpse.
    After that, you’ll need to dive again, go through the pipe, and crack the safe to get your reward.

  • Old Man’s Stash

    XP: 3,000
    Money: 15,000
    Loot: Gold [3]
    When killing NPCs at the Bus Station, you can loot a PDA that triggers the quest. The PDA also contains a promo code for Premium (2-hour Premium, can only be activated once per account): PROMONUDAIHALAVU
    Next, grab a shovel and head to coordinates L3-9 to dig up the stash near a small pile of rocks.

  • Cache by the Dead Tree

    XP: 2,000
    Loot: Gold Chains
    The quest starts at the water tower in the Garages at H8-8. After picking up the note, head to J7-1 (slightly north of the ruins) and start digging with a shovel following the instructions.
  • That’s Low

    XP: 10,000
    Money: 3,000
    Loot: NDP Battery [2], Titanium Powder [25], NDP Polymer [13], Chitinous Tissue [1]
    When killing NPCs on the Coast, you can loot a PDA that triggers the quest. You need to find and dig up the cache using a shovel (Coast, C4-3, 15 meters west of the well).

  • Treasure Map #1-15

    Loot: gold, crystals, stimulators, ammo, etc.
    While fishing, you can catch a treasure map. You can dig up the stash using the coordinates from the bottle on the Coast location.

Other Side Quests

  • Hospitality

    XP: 1,500
    Completed during a dialogue with an NPC at the Black Sunset Camp.
  • The Lost Wanderer

    XP: 3,000
    Money: 5,000
    Starts at the peat bog: intersection of A9-2, A9-3, A9-9, A9-4. There’s a corpse on a small island, and picking up the PDA starts the quest.
    You need to find and bring to Gosha:
    • 2004 Wine (basement of the Strange Place, Key 9);
    • 2010 Wine (attic of the Strange Place (same spot as for the Wheels quest)).
    The Lost Wanderer
  • Warehouse Affairs

    XP: 2,000
    You need to loot a PDA (Korovye village, on the floor in the Hangar) and turn it in to the local storekeeper.
  • Waybills

    XP: 2,000
    You need to collect 3 waybills. After completing this quest, another one will start, for which you need to take the waybills to Grumpy.
    All 3 documents are located in the DEPOT area (A8-3).
    • The first one is in the two-story house between A8-2 and A8-3. 2nd floor, far left door, on a shelf.
    • The second one is behind a locked door requiring Key #50, on a table (the key is looted from a corpse behind the bus stop at B7-9).
    • The third one is in the DEPOT itself, in the central train car, in the driver’s cabin.
    Waybills
  • Find the Safe (1)

    XP: 5,000
    To trigger the quest, you need to find a note with the safe code. It’s located in one of the houses in Sosnovka (East Territories, coordinates H6-5). The house is in the bottom right corner of the grid square, and the note is on a nightstand shelf in the far right room. Picking it up activates the quest.
    Keep in mind that if someone looted the note before you, the next one will spawn in 20 minutes of real time.
    Next, you need to open the safe. It’s located in the shop in Sosnovka (East Territories, H6-4). The door is locked and requires a lockpick.

  • I-HR Blueprints (2)

    XP: 5,000
    Objective: Find the blueprints in the DEPOT area (Minaev’s territory, A8-3) and take them to the doctor in the Tunnels.
    Blueprint locations:
    Southern single-story house (the largest one):
    • One blueprint is in the locked room on the shelving units.
    • The second blueprint is in the wardrobe in the room at the other end of the building.
    Two-story house:
    • One blueprint on the 2nd floor, in the first room to the right of the stairs.
    Small western building:
    • One blueprint is lying on a table inside the building.
    Note: If someone already took the blueprints, they will respawn after 5 minutes of real time.

  • Lumberjack’s Map

    XP: 3,000
    Loot: PDA Map: Coast
    Available immediately as soon as you visit the Coast for the first time (level 30 location):
    • Note – you’ll find it in one of the houses at the transition from the Dead forest. (If you stand with your back to the tunnel, it’s the far left house; the note is in the nightstand.)
    • Navigator – located in grid square C2-7 at the sawmill. (Lying in the railcar, in the nightstand.)

*Completing quests (1) and (2) is mandatory to unlock the further quest chain in the Tunnels.
