Weapon Types in WTLO
The game features a wide arsenal of weapons. The main weapon types are tied to specific character classes:
- Assault: assault rifles, machine guns, and throwables (grenades).
- Engineer: submachine guns (SMGs) and explosives (mines).
- Prospector: shotguns and grenade launchers.
- Hunter: sniper rifles.
Using your class-specific weapons gives you certain advantages.
It’s important to understand: if you pick up a “non-native” (off-class) weapon, it won’t shoot worse on its own. However, when leveling up weapon proficiency, an off-class weapon will be less effective.
For example: a player who maxes out their native weapon skill tree to 100% gets a +15% damage bonus. If they pick up a weapon from another class, they can only level its proficiency to a maximum of 50%, which yields only a +7% damage bonus. Thus, using your native weapon is always more beneficial. Where to Buy and Find Weapons
All weapons are sold by standard NPC traders, but weapons of certain tiers are only available in corresponding locations. For example:
the “Belka” can only be purchased in Solnechny town, level 25 weapons are found in the Tunnels, and level 35 weapons are exclusive to high-level locations (Canyon, Polygon, Coastline, and Foothills).
Modded weapons can be looted from the “One-Armed Bandit” (an in-game slot machine in the Tunnels), dropped by bosses, obtained as a reward for completing an Adventure, or crafted yourself. We’ve listed exactly which weapons and where you can get them without resorting to crafting below (check out the interactive menu).
Character Stat Requirements
All weapons are tied to your character level: you won’t be able to equip an item you haven’t “leveled up” to yet.
Additionally, each weapon has its own character stat requirements: a specific amount of Strength, Accuracy, Agility, etc. Therefore, you should allocate your stat points carefully, otherwise, you won’t be able to use your chosen “gun”.
*It’s worth noting the Engineer separately, as only this class can use mines. Engineers also have access to specific class equipment that other classes cannot use. We’ve included it in the general list (even though it’s not a weapon) to make it easier for you to plan your character’s stat point distribution.
