Choosing a Server
When choosing a game server, you need to consider the following parameters: location, load, and server type (Regular / No-PK).

Choosing between a “Regular” Server and NO-PK
Will To Live Online features two types of servers:
- Regular (PvP)
- No-PK (PvE-oriented)

No-PK servers, otherwise known as “Player versus Environment”
PvP is disabled or heavily restricted here:
- Players cannot attack each other unless they manually enable PvP.
- PvP mode is off by default and can be turned on/off at any time, at any level.
- Important: In PvP locations (Canyon, Firing Range, Foothills), PvP turns on automatically. After leaving these locations, don’t forget to manually disable PvP if you don’t want to stay in PvP mode.
A great choice for newcomers or those who prefer a relaxed playthrough: quests, exploration, mutant hunting — without the risk of being killed by another player.
Regular (PvP) Servers
- PvP is enabled by default.
- Until level 15, PvP can be disabled so you can get used to the game in peace.
- After level 15, PvP is always active — you cannot opt out.
This is the choice for players who love risk, intense fights, and competitive gameplay.
Exception for All Servers
If you join one of the factions:
- PvP against a hostile faction becomes an integral part of the game, even on a No-PK server.
- Members of the same faction in NO-PK mode cannot deal damage to each other if they are in locations without forced PvP mode.
Server Location
Server location directly affects your ping (response time). The closer the server is to your region, the lower the latency, which will positively impact your gameplay. You can check the latency to the server directly in-game (once you create a character and start playing. It will be shown in the top right corner of the screen). Or via the Steam client – View – Game Servers:

*Don’t be surprised if you notice KAZ-1 in the Steam server list. This is the game administration’s test server, inaccessible to regular players. 😉

Server Load
Server load shows the number of active players at the moment. High load provides the opportunity to interact with a large number of participants, more intense wars in PvP locations, and interesting co-op PvE activities. However, it can also make it harder to access leveling spots and resource gathering (too much competition). Low load doesn’t have these issues, but interaction with other players will be limited.
Game Access for Players from Ukraine
Due to sanctions imposed by Ukraine against Russia, ISPs have restricted access to a number of websites and servers located in Russia. The game administration has no influence over these measures.
What this means:
- When trying to log into the game, the server list may appear empty, as the main hosting is located in Russia (even though the game itself is Kazakhstan).
- To play fully, you need to use a VPN. It will allow you to see the server list and connect to the servers.
- There are 18 servers available in the game, of which 4 work without the need for a constant VPN.
Play options:
- With a VPN
- Connection to any server.
- Increased ping is possible (example: on Moscow servers, players from Russia have a latency of ~15 ms, while players from Ukraine with a VPN have about 30 ms).
- Without a constant VPN
- Connection is possible to 4 servers.
- To see them, you need to turn on a VPN once, select a server, and then you can turn off the VPN and continue playing.
- Minus: higher latency (response time) due to the region.
Below is a list of servers available without a constant VPN.
