PIONER features a vast arsenal of weapons, varying in rarity, base stats, and unique modifiers.
Weapons are divided into the following rarity tiers:
Weapon Rarity
- Common (White)
- Uncommon (Green)
- Rare (Blue)
- Epic (Purple)
Rarity Impact
The higher the weapon’s rarity:
- the better its base stats;
- the more bonus effects it can roll;
- the higher the repair costs.
It’s recommended to use Rare and Epic tier weapons since they offer the best overall stats. Any duplicate drops of these are best sold to vendors. Common and Uncommon weapons should be scrapped at the workbench.
Weapons are also categorized by the ammo types they use:
Ammo Types
- Pistol Ammo
- Sniper Ammo
- Shotgun Shells
- Rifle Ammo
- Special Ammo
- Healing Ammo
Since your character can only carry a limited amount of ammo in their inventory, it’s highly recommended to run weapons that use different ammo types. This allows you to keep fighting even if you run dry on one caliber — simply swap to a gun chambered for a different round.
Durability & Repairs
When a weapon completely breaks, it becomes unusable: it is automatically unequipped from your hotbar and moved back to your inventory. Therefore, it’s crucial to keep an eye on your weapon’s durability.
Pro tip: avoid repairing your gear to 100%. Instead, repair it to just below max to save on repair materials. Repairs are done in fixed stages and will always consume a set amount of resources.
For example: if your gun is at 99% durability, repairing it back to 100% will cost the exact same resources as a full repair stage, not just the missing 1%.
Weapon Upgrades
Weapons can be upgraded from Tier 1 to Tier 3, which directly increases their base damage.
Each upgrade tier requires higher-tier materials.
